Seagull-type snow crystals observed in Hokkaido

چکیده
雪結晶は,六回対称性を持った単結晶がよく知られているが,六回対称性を持たないものもあり,鴎状結晶はその一つである.この結晶の観察は,ほとんどが北極圏のカナダ北部など寒冷地に限られているが,2007年3月に上富良野町吹上温泉で,2020年12月に稚内市内で観察された.このうち2020年12月の稚内での観察は山岳地以外の国内では非常に珍しく,上空の強い寒気により地上で-9.6℃,雲頂と考えられる高度2106 mで-27.7℃という気象環境になっており,対流圏下層で成長したと考えられる.
